November's Happenings

This has been a crazy month so far. I cannot believe how quickly it has gone! Here are some of the highlights:

My Dad is here visiting from Oregon! I'm so thankful that he has been able to take the time to come visit us! He recently introduced me to something called Geocaching. Here is the technical definition: a treasure hunting game where you use a GPS to hide and seek containers with other participants in the activity. Basically people all across the world hide little trinkets and record the GPS coordinates. You can go online to a website and find geocaches near wherever you are. It's something that's fun and free and gets you outdoors. One of the first days that my Dad was here we were out driving and decided to do some geocache hunting! Here are some pictures from that day.

This was our first geocaching stop. We were both shocked at the beautiful view we stumbled upon.

Chinook joined us for our geocache hunting! He absolutely looooooved it! He got to be outside.. enough said.

My dad looking for the "hiding spot" .... Getting warmer!

Such a pretty puppy! This was our second stop!

You can barely tell that my Dad is in the trees, but he's searching for our second geocache.

While my dad has been here we have been trying out many of the restaurants here in Morton. One of the ones we tried was the Red Rock Bar and Grille, it wasn't too bad! I think that my dad has really enjoyed being in "Bear Country." Just about everyone here is a Bears fan, and naturally their logo is everywhere. Here it is at the Red Rock Bar and Grille....

Recently here in Peoria a Bass Pro Shop opened. Even if you're not into outdoorsy type things, it's kind of fun to walk around the store and see all the wildlife. There's also a restaurant in the store called the "Fish Bowl." It's a restaurant/bowling alley. It's a pretty cool setup.

This tree was right inside the front door, Beautiful!

Deer and birds!

HUUUUUUUUGE Bear!
We're dorks....

These ones were actually alive! Lol

This was inside the "Fish Bowl." All of the bowling balls had something unique like this on them... we couldn't resist the photo-op! :)

This bowling ball was like a globe, so we decided to find where we were at... Haha.

Dad decided to try his hand at shooting. It was like an arcade game.

More shooting

Tonight I got the strange inclination to bake! I know, very strange. So my dad and I decided to make some Red Velvet Cupcakes and Gingerbread Men. Deeeeeeelicious! :)

Yummmmmmmy!

The cookies were so good that we decided to only ice half of them. They are delicious all on their own :)

It's been so nice having my dad here to visit! I'm very grateful that he was able to come see us!
